You may have already checked several web designers and found that their prices are far more than you ever expected to pay for a website. There is no reason for you to spend several hundred or even thousands of dollars for your professional presence on the web. If you have searched other web designer sites or have consulted designers in your area, you have already found that pricing for a simple one to three page site can range from $695 to $4,000. That is without many of the features that I love working with, such as music sound clips, digital photos and galleries. You may have found other designers who will charge you additional fees for these features, up to $100 per additional page beyond your basic site, and hourly rates that can begin at $50 per hour.

How is my pricing different from most web designers? My fees are based on the basics of creating an affordable, quality, professional website for you. There are no separate charges for domain name registration or set-up; no fees for each additional page; no fees for photos, logos, clipart images, or sound clips. And there is no monthly hosting fee. All of these features are included in my hourly rate of $35 per hour. Compare prices with other designers and you will find that this is the most affordable pricing you will find for a quality site.

An initial set-up fee for the creation of up to four pages is $395.  All other work including the creation of additional pages, updates, and any other maintenance or changes at your request is at the rate of $35 per hour.

Why do other designers charge so much if creating a site can be as affordable as you say?

There are several reasons for this. The first are the capabilities of large design firms which have many employees, the cost of overhead for their office, plus the additional knowledge and experience they have in creating a flashy site for top dollar. I try to keep my sites simple, basic, easy to load and navigate, but offer some of the special features such as MP3 music sound clips that can fade in and out, or be customized, that other designers charge high fees to offer you. Larger design companies work Monday through Friday 9-5. I work at my own set hours, whether they be on a weekend, a holiday or during the middle of the night.

I like what I see so far. What's the next step?

I will register your domain name, create your site and have it up and running for you to view. At that time you will receive a bill for $395.  From that point on, additional work on your site, making changes or adding pages, is at an hourly rate of $35. You will be kept up to date on the amount of time spent on your site. Arrangements can be made as to how you wish to receive your statement. Some clients choose to pay after three or four hours of work has been completed. Others may pay at the completion of their site. I accept checks and online payments through PayPal.

I want to be able to sell things from my site. Can you handle that?

Yes, I can set your site up with a shopping cart and PayPal capabilities. The orders along with the payment would be sent directly to you for processing. You have full control of all payments and ordering, and the information for orders from your site does not reach me.

What if I like other sites you created and want something similar, but without copying another site?

Let me know a few basics things about what you like, what you want to achieve with your main page, and we can start with something as simple as a color scheme. I can use your photos or sample photos I have to use as an example, and base it on one of the sites you like. It will be different enough that it won't be a duplicate of another site.

Can I have an email address that goes through my site and not my personal email?

Yes, you will be allowed several email names, such as info@yourdomain.com.

Can I work with you on each page to come up with different designs I like?

I prefer to maintain a consistent theme within the site, and to work with my own ideas and creativity based on what you express your site should convey to the viewer, and for you. If you need to have very specific input on such details as font type, size and placement, or several background ideas for each page, or other design ideas, then you will be more satisfied finding someone who will work under your guidance and instruction. My satisfaction comes from building a site for you based on my creativity as a designer, and knowing you are pleased with the final outcome. I want to be proud to attach my name at the bottom of your site as the design, just as you will be proud to claim the site as your domain on the web.

Where exactly is Pier 27?

Pier 27 is that wonderful inner place of retreat, rejuvenation, relaxation and re-grouping, where anyone can visit without making a reservation or spending any money. It is that solitary island without over-population of tourists, where you can dock your boat and you're welcome aboard anyone else's vessel as well. It is the vision in your mind where the sea mist fills your senses, the sun's rays provide inner warmth to your heart and soul, the food and drinks are free, the dancing is joyous and the music never ends. It is where people show no fear of conversation or friendly smiles. Pier 27 is where everyone should spend a few hours, several days, or luckily an eternity enjoying.
